Hey so last weekend Nick, Honey, Rocco, Nixon and Me went Glamping!!!
Now if you know me you know i’m a girl who likes a hotel and my own ensuite … however i thought lets try it – the kids will love it! When I told Nick he was like “you feeling alright? you know you have to share a toilet right?” haha
We had a really busy week leading up to the crazy adventure so my packing was not on point! I actually forgot the Wellies.
I googled Glamping near us and found ….. Canvas and Stars – Boutique Glamping
We arrived at our Bell Tent
Set in East Sussex in an amazing quiet field with 10 Bell Tents.
Inside our tent we had a Double bed, a single blow up bed and a double blow up bed. All bedding was provided perfectly clean and fresh. Complimentary shower goodies and home made flapjacks. The toilets were fabulous and smelt lovely too!
On arrival there was a Gin Van. An actual Gin Van! Needless to say we spent a lot of time there – whilst the children explored and met new friends. The gin and beer and tonic was all local and simply fabulous!
There was a lovely fancy dress rail with the most amazing Peter Stringfellow Original Leopard Chair.
Rocco felt right at home – he was a Pirate and then became the modern day Elsa with his new friend Sahara.
There was also a make up table and Honey had a wonderful time being made over.
And pulling Nixon round in the trolley.
Nick started on the Bar B Q and cooked fabulous sausages and burgers for dinner!
As soon as we mentioned we were going Glamping – Honey was so excited that we would be able to roast marshmallows!
Canvas and Stars – had ready made bags of biscuits, marshmallows, sticks, matches for £5. Our children’s faces were defo worth sleeping in a tent for!!
We all went off to bed and slept through the noise of the crazy rain on our tent! Nixon’s first ever night in a bed was a huge success.
I had pre ordered a Champagne breakfast hamper and it did not disappoint. Local Bacon, Sausages, Eggs, Bread …. what breakfast dreams are made of.
Then we went off to the farm on the site and fed the animals ! 20p a bag of feed! The Children loved it
So far so perfect …….. but then the rain came!!!! so we went out for a drive to Lewes and i shopped in the little amazing boutique shops whilst the family sat in the car with a DVD.
We went back to the campsite and the children played with new friends and Canvas and Stars had invited all the children to an afternoon tea party .
We had booked a table at the local pub called The Gun and we all had a lovely meal and Guiness, Gin and Milkshakes
Saturday night we all sat outside out tents – the men were all checking out who had the bigger fire – drinking gin and dancing! We really had a great group of people!!!
We had to check out at 10am so we just got up and went to Brighton at 9am – we had pancakes for breakfast, ears pierces, hair cuts, lunch with nanny!
So in summary
Canvas and Stars was brilliant! I am not a camper by any means – however the time we got to spend together as a family was simply magical! We had no signal – so no phones – and it really felt like we all connected and had conversations and just all got on so well!
I had not packed the correct clothes/shoes so next time i would address that for sure! But there definitely will be a next time!!!
If you have been Glamping anywhere you love – please let us know as we want to book somewhere for us all to go.
My final picture to sum up the weekend
