Hey, lovely people who take the time to read our blog! We really appreciate it and we hope you are having a wonderful start to 2018! This first post of the year is all about our new goals for 2018.
We decided that this year we were going to focus more on ourselves. To take the time out to look after ourselves. We love being mums and our families are our number one priority always but it doesn’t mean we can’t be an equal member on that priority list. So a bit of self-love and self-care are our main focus for 2018! When you feel good it has such a positive effect on everyone else in your family. Happy mummy = Happy children and Happy wife = Happy life are not ancient myths people! They are true!
Aside from the general self-care things like taking time out to paint our nails, get our hair done, cleanse and tone etc we are both trying to loose weight and be healthier!
So what is Leeanne doing? Well, I became vegan last September so this has naturally helped in the healthy eating stakes as I mainly just eat fruit, veg, beans, pulses, nuts etc. But whilst transitioning I have opted for a lot of the vegan alternatives, like sausages, cheeses etc. As these are highly processed my aim is to eat these things less often and move towards a whole food plant-based diet.
I am also doing intermittent fasting. Which basically means I only eat for an 8 hour period of the day (11am-7pm) which you choose. Besides loosing weight there are lots of other benefits to IF. I will do a further blog post explaining all about this if anyone is interested?
For exercise, I am following the Kayla Itsines Sweat app, BBG Stronger. Which is 3, 28 min circuits a week which you can do at home and 3 LISS a week which could be a walk, run etc! I will do a full review on this in another post once I complete the challenge! I just don’t have to mojo to work out of an evening which is my only option as I am never without a child in the day so I am doing these workouts first thing and I don’t have to think about it then for the rest of the day!
So what is Jade doing?
Hey – Jade here – so as above my NY Resolution is to take care of myself and my skin and generally put some time by for me instead of giving my whole soul to everyone else. I have a holiday filled packed year with some big events and I just feel like I need to lose a bit of this baby weight! Question: Are you allowed to call it baby weight if your youngest baby is 2? hahah – hell yes!!!!
So last Wednesday I joined Weight Watchers – they’ve got a new plan and a great new app! I feel that slow and steady will win the race and so I’m defo on a mission to lose a lb or 2 a week! My plan is to just not put any weight on at all! So even if I have a bad weekend and stay the same that will be a win!
I am also starting the intermittent fasting too as this really helped me in December!
Exercise wise I just can’t work out at home – it’s not in my bones I have never found the at home exercise mojo! So i am doing Circuit classes twice a week. I feel like this is an easy target for me that I can keep up! Then when I lose my weight I will start some personal training to tone all my flabby bits up! Well, that’s the plan!
